Optical Compressor
The B85 audio Optical Compressor is a floor effect that is based on the classic wiring of optical compressors from the late seventies. The compressor works on the principle of an electro-optical circuit. It is controlled by potentiometers Output for controlling the volume of the affected signal (it can also serve as a volume booster) and Comp for setting the level of the resulting compression. The strength of the output signal from your instrument has a large effect on the resulting compression. The highest quality components were used to build the compressor, such as potentiometers from Alpha-Pots, jack connectors from the Amphenol brand and a GRVA design foot switch with a service life of 30,000 switches. The whole effect is hand made and this also applies to the printed circuit board.
