The Empress Bass Compressor is a professional-grade, all-analog effects pedal designed to offer studio-quality dynamic control in a compact format. Building on the legacy of the original Empress Compressor, this version is specifically voiced for bass, featuring a flat frequency response down to 10Hz. It provides users with a comprehensive control set typically found in high-end rack gear, including input and gain reduction metering via bright multi-color LEDs. Key features include selectable compression ratios of 2:1, 4:1, and 10:1, along with independent attack and release controls for precise sculpting. A dedicated mix knob allows for "New York-style" parallel compression, blending the dry and compressed signals to maintain natural transients. New additions include a "Tone + Colour" switch for adding mild harmonic distortion with midrange frequency shifts and a fully variable sidechain high-pass filter (20Hz–400Hz). Housed in a durable, sparkling die-cast aluminum enclosure, it ensures transparent signal integrity with true bypass switching.
