Catalinbread Perseus DIO
The Catalinbread Perseus DIO is an expanded, all-analog sub-octave synth/fuzz pedal, updating the original Perseus with a 3-voice octave-down design and a flexible filter section. It is engineered to create tones ranging from video game-like square-wave bass lines to crushing sub-octave riffage. The pedal features dedicated controls for two octave-down signals (one octave down and two octaves down), plus a separate volume control for the dry signal. Its versatility lies in the two low-pass filter controls (Filter 1 and Filter 2). When the filters are turned down, the octaves are harmonically rich square waves, often compared to old-school Nintendo sounds. Turning up the filter knobs progressively smooths out the harmonics, creating cleaner octave-down tones. The Perseus DIO operates on a 9-18V DC power supply.
