The Great Eastern FX Co. Focus Fuzz Deluxe is a versatile, hand-built pedal from Cambridge, UK, combining germanium fuzz, octave, overdrive, and boost effects. Unlike classic fuzz pedals, it is designed to be easy to control and perform well in any setup, loving both humbuckers and single-coils without getting lost in the mix. It offers three distinct modes: Boost, Drive, and Fuzz. A footswitchable "Overtone" effect blends an analog octave-up with the full-range signal. The fuzz section is praised for expertly balancing the weight and presence of a germanium Fuzz Face, the ferocity of a Tone Bender, and the focus of a Dallas Rangemaster. It is built with high-quality components, including an NOS Soviet-era germanium transistor. The pedal requires a 9V DC mains adapter and draws 10mA.
