JCM 800
The Marshall JCM800 is an iconic amplifier series, introduced in 1981, that quickly became a foundational sound for 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Known for its powerful, dynamic response and ability to deliver everything from crunchy rhythms to saturated, face-melting distortion, the JCM800 defined a generation of rock music. The original JCM800 2203 is a 100W, single-channel tube head featuring a master volume control, which was key to achieving valve saturation and a warm, responsive tone at lower volumes. It has a simple yet effective three-band EQ, offering a versatile range of tones. More recently, Marshall released the JCM800 Overdrive Pedal, which replicates the amp's distinctive roar and dynamic response for modern pedalboards. The pedal provides the signature Marshall clarity and power in a compact, rugged format, making the legendary 80s tone accessible for rehearsals, studio sessions, or live performances.
