OSC Fuzz
The Dr.lake OSC Fuzz, also known as the Hachinana Shiki Kebadate Hizumaseki (Type 87 Fuzz Distortion), is a boutique, experimental guitar effects pedal handcrafted in Japan. Drawing design inspiration from the historic Japanese Zero-sen fighter plane, it is a versatile fuzz unit featuring a built-in oscillator. The pedal is unique for its ability to blend the input signal with an oscillating frequency, creating harmonically rich, square-wave-style distortion and synth-like textures. The interface includes a dedicated OSC switch to engage the self-oscillation circuit and a MOD switch for pitch modulation. Controls consist of Level, Fuzz/Freq, and Speed, which adjust the distortion intensity, oscillator pitch, and modulation rate, respectively. A standout technical feature is the CV pedal input, allowing musicians to control parameters like pitch and speed in real-time with an external expression pedal. Housed in a durable metal enclosure, the OSC Fuzz is ideal for noise, shoegaze, and experimental musicians.
