Phaser Tone PT-707

The Maxon PT-707 Phase Tone is a rare and highly regarded analog phaser pedal manufactured in Japan during the mid-to-late 1970s. Produced by Maxon, the original manufacturer for Ibanez, this pedal was often marketed internationally under the Ibanez brand as the Phase Tone II. Known for its lush, organic modulation, the PT-707 is celebrated for delivering a warm, three-dimensional sweep that ranges from subtle shimmers to deep, "spaceship" warbles. At its technical core, the pedal features the legendary JRC4558D operational amplifier, contributing to its rich, full-bodied tonal character. Its straightforward interface typically includes a single Speed knob to adjust the rate of the effect, making it highly intuitive for live use. Housed in a durable, blue-finished metal enclosure, it is designed for both electric guitar and bass. Because Maxon has never reissued this specific circuit, original units are considered premium vintage collectibles by tone enthusiasts and pedal historians.
