Phasor 201
The DOD Phasor 201 by DOD (Digitech) is a legendary analog phaser pedal originally released in 1977 as one of the first compact phasing effects. Known for its as-simple-as-it-gets design, it features a single Speed knob that simultaneously controls the rate and depth of the effect. Built around a classic 2-stage RC phase-shift circuit, it delivers a warm, organic, and subtle modulation that is often compared to the MXR Phase 45. Unlike more aggressive 4-stage phasers, the 201 is celebrated for its musical transparency, adding a lush, watery texture to clean tones and a "chewy" swirl to overdriven signals without muddying the low end. The 2013 reissue modernized the vintage design by adding true bypass switching, a crisp blue LED indicator, and a standard 9V DC power jack, all housed in a lightweight aluminum chassis with a striking blue metallic flake finish. It remains a staple for those seeking vintage vibe with modern reliability.
