Piggy octa-fuzz-boost
The PSHC Piggy Octa-Fuzz-Boost is a boutique analog effects pedal handcrafted by PSHC, a manufacturer based in Kazakhstan and Russia. This versatile device is designed as an evolution of the classic Prescription Electronics C.O.B. (Clean Octave Blend) circuit, offering a unique combination of old-school octave fuzz and clean boosting. Visually, the pedal is famous for its distinctive pig face etching, where the eyes illuminate as LEDs when the effect is engaged. Technically, the Piggy uses matched transistors and diodes to ensure a pronounced octave effect, which is most responsive on the upper frets using the neck pickup. It functions as a heavy fuzz, a synth-like industrial distortion for overdriven amps, or a transparent booster. The control layout typically includes Level, Octave Gain, and Mix knobs, though the V2 model introduces separate volume controls for clean and dirt paths. It features true bypass switching and runs on standard 9V DC power.
