Proto 2 Beta Tubeless Tone
The Smoky Signal Audio Tubeless Beta Tuning Proto 2 is an exceptionally rare, boutique overdrive pedal handcrafted by the late master builder Taku Sakashita. Known for its extremely limited production run, this "Proto 2" version represents a very early iteration of the Tubeless circuit, distinguished by its unique decal logo and raw aesthetic. The pedal is specifically engineered to deliver highly transparent, amp-like overdrive that preserves the natural character of the guitar and amplifier. Technically, it features a simple three-knob interface for Level, Gain, and Tone, but is further enhanced by a specialized Amp Matching Control (AMC) knob located on the side of the chassis. This AMC control allows musicians to fine-tune the overtone configuration to perfectly match their specific amplifier. Because the internal circuit is protected by a "black box" resin and the brand is no longer in operation, these pedals are considered irreplaceable, high-value collector's items in the boutique effects market.
