SansAmp GT2
The Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 is a legendary, all-analog tube amplifier emulator designed to provide a vast array of iconic tones in a single stompbox. Introduced in 1993, this versatile pedal allows musicians to architecturally build their own rig by selecting between three amplifier voices: Tweed (Fender-style), British (Marshall-style), and California (Mesa/Boogie-style). Each mode can be further refined using a three-position Mod switch—offering Clean, Hi Gain, and Hot-Rodded gain structures—and a Mic switch that simulates various virtual microphone placements, including Classic, Center, and Off-Axis. Equipped with a highly effective two-band shelving EQ and independent gain and drive controls, the GT2 delivers smooth, natural dynamic character without the latency of digital modeling. Its full-range design makes it equally effective for guitar, bass, and other instruments. Whether used as a primary distortion source or as a direct-to-PA solution for ampless performances, the GT2 remains an industry standard for its reliability and organic tube-like saturation.
