Ola Englund Chug
The Solar Chug Lite is a compact, high-gain distortion pedal created in collaboration with guitarist Ola Englund, designed to deliver crushing, face-melting metal tones in a pedalboard-friendly size. It is engineered as the "little brother" of the original Chug preamp, retaining the same massive gain and tone profile. The circuit is optimally voiced for use as a traditional distortion pedal in front of an amplifier, a key difference from the original CHUG, which was voiced as a preamp. The Chug Lite features an active 3-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble) with a sweepable mid-frequency control for powerful tonal shaping. This allows users to dial in everything from mid-scooped "SUPER SCOOP" sounds to mid-focused "SOLO SHRED" settings. It offers extremely high levels of gain, is housed in a rugged enclosure with true bypass circuitry, and retails for $129.
