TH-20
The Pearl TH-20 Thriller is a rare, vintage guitar effects pedal manufactured in Japan during the 1980s by the renowned drum company Pearl. Often compared to the elusive Boss SP-1 Spectrum, the Thriller functions as a specialized filter and enhancer designed to add clarity and brilliance to a guitar signal. It utilizes a sophisticated low-cut filter and a multi-peak circuit to boost six specific, audible frequency points in the high range. The pedal features four intuitive controls: Frequency, which sets the cut-off point between 600Hz and 7kHz; Balance, to mix the dry and filtered signals; Color, which boosts levels at the cut-off point; and Multipeak, which adjusts the peak level of the six high-frequency points. Known for its exceptional build quality and versatile tonal palette, the TH-20 is highly sought after by collectors for creating unique "cocked-wah" or funk-style filter tones while maintaining signal transparency.
