It operates by constantly capturing audio in a five-second buffer for immediate manipulation. The pedal takes small bits of sound, or "grains," and rearranges them, allowing users to stretch, pitch, blur, or transform them into rhythmic textures. Key features include controls for Rate, which sets the speed at which grains are triggered (with options for synchronized time divisions via tap tempo or MIDI clock), Time, which sets the delay time of grains up to five seconds, and Size, which controls grain length from 10ms to one second. Pitch can be manipulated with smooth, stepped, or octave-only modes. A unique "Chance" control adds random modulation to Rate, Time, Size, and Pitch, allowing the pedal to act as a creative partner that finds infinitely new ways to interact with the sound, leading to lush clouds, rhythmic crystals, and evolving textures.
