The Drunk Beaver Kavun MOS Drive, also known as the Denys Toporchuk Signature Kavun MOS Drive, is an overdrive pedal that reimagines the foundational EQ of the classic Ibanez Mostortion circuit. Unlike its inspiration, the Kavun MOS Drive utilizes a discrete MOSFET op-amp and an input buffer, resulting in a unique overdrive experience. Hand-built by Drunk Beaver, this pedal is celebrated for its versatility, capable of delivering tones ranging from transparent, dynamic boost to a rich, harmonically complex drive. It is engineered to retain a familiar and powerful EQ section while offering a new sonic palette. The pedal is priced at $175 and is known for its "watermelon and axe" motif, referencing the Ukrainian background of the builder. It builds upon the PD #9 Kharkiv CMOStortion design.
