FL99 Classic Flange
The Ibanez FL99 Classic Flange is a highly regarded analog effects pedal produced in Japan between 1997 and 1999. Part of the Ibanez Classic Series, it is often nicknamed the "A/DA Killer" due to its lush, organic modulation that rivals legendary vintage units. At its heart is the rare MN3210 Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) chip, which provides a warm, watery, and thick tone that avoids the metallic harshness found in many digital flangers. The pedal features a versatile control set, including Speed, Depth, Regeneration, and Manual knobs, allowing for a wide range of sounds from subtle chorus-like textures to extreme jet-plane sweeps and even unique percussion-like effects. A signature technical feature is the Filter switch, which engages a specialized circuit to further shape the frequency response. Housed in a durable, large-format metal enclosure, the FL99 is prized by collectors and professionals for its exceptional build quality and its ability to maintain signal transparency while delivering rich, multi-dimensional modulation.
