Short Fuse
The Holowan Short Fuse is a hand-built analog transistor effects pedal designed as a high-powered overdrive and boost for both guitar and bass. Built on an original, point-to-point wired circuit, it is celebrated for delivering a massive spectrum of high-gain textures, from a smooth, buttery crunch to "thundering explosions of grit." A defining feature is the "Mode" control, which allows players to select between germanium and silicon rectifiers, fundamentally altering the clipping style and feel. This versatility is managed by five controls: Blast (output volume), Burn (drive intensity), Shrapnel (tone sweep), Control (input impedance), and the Mode switch. The Short Fuse excels at providing assaulting gain boosts, snarling ripped-speaker tones, and loads of sustain with the signal power to cut through any mix. With true bypass switching and a lifetime warranty, it offers a robust, boutique, analog experience.
