The Source Audio Encounter Ambient Delay+Reverb is a fully-loaded effects pedal designed to explore swirling celestial tones and deeply immersive soundscapes, functioning as an ambient workstation. It is an expansion on the architecture of the popular Collider pedal, but specifically aims for otherworldly and intergalactic soundscapes rather than traditional ambient effects. Encounter features a bevy of distinct delay and reverb engines that can be combined, including: Hypersphere, Shimmers, Trem Verb, Reverse, Lo-fi, Swell, Noise Tape, and Drum Echo, alongside an EchoVerb mode where delay and reverb coexist. The pedal supports true stereo inputs and outputs, offers Analog Dry Through (keeping the instrument's dry signal 100% analog), and provides both dedicated ON/OFF footswitches for delay and reverb, plus tap tempo. It is MIDI-capable, allowing access to 128 presets. This pedal is built for adventurous sound design, creating huge, ethereal tones for post-rock, meditative, and drone-like genres.
