’The J’ Lazy J 20 Tweed Supreme
The ThorpyFX 'The J' is an analog amp emulator and dual-channel preamp, developed in collaboration with Lazy J Amps, designed to meticulously capture the sound and dynamic, touch-sensitive feel of the legendary Lazy J J20 tweed amplifier. Marketed as a "Tweed Supreme," it delivers the rich, chewy tweed breakup and vintage character of the J20 in a compact, pedalboard-friendly format. This sophisticated pedal features an internal transformer for real amp-like punch and sag, and includes a clever "Supply" knob that acts as a voltage sag control, mimicking authentic tube compression. It offers two distinct, footswitchable channels (Normal and Bright) with independent volume/gain controls. An X/Y switch emulates 12AX7 or 12AY7 input tubes, allowing tones to range from classic Tweed chime and grit to raw medium-gain drive. Built in the UK with audiophile-grade components, 'The J' functions seamlessly into a clean amplifier, recording interface, or existing pedal rig.
