The ThorpyFX x Origin Effects Thorogin "Folked Up Fuzz" is a collaborative, highly versatile, all-analog fuzz pedal known for its massive sound and wide tonal range. Designed to be dynamic and responsive, the Thorogin offers tones ranging from mild, hairy overdrive to devastating, sustaining fuzz. The core fuzz circuit is described as a silicon interpretation of a vintage MK1 Tone Bender, producing a rich and raucous sound. Key controls include "FUZZ" for setting saturation, and "WOOD," which controls the attack/bias. Lower "WOOD" settings result in a gated sound, while higher settings provide a thicker, sustaining fuzz tone, interacting heavily with the "FUZZ" control. The pedal also features two specially selected tonewood clipping dowels (Rosewood for broad frequency/gentle mid scoop and Mahogany for a focused frequency/full midrange) to change the character of the fuzz circuit, allowing users to dial in precise textures across a high-quality frequency spectrum while maintaining clarity even at extreme gain settings.
