AC Booster V2
The Xotic Effects AC Booster V2 is a versatile clean boost and overdrive pedal, offering a crunchy, warm overdriven tone that maintains transparency and can be cleaned up by rolling back the guitar’s volume. This V2 update to the classic AC Booster provides enhanced flexibility with a two-band EQ (Treble and Bass) and a secondary Gain #2 boost function for solos and leads. A key feature is the 4-pole DIP switch, which offers four tone-shaping options: a Classic mode (emulating the original AC Booster), a Modern mode, and selectable Lo Mid Boost (+6dB @ 500hz) or Hi Mid Boost (+6dB @ 2khz). It also includes a compression switch for 6dB of compression. The pedal operates between 9-18VDC, with higher voltage providing increased headroom, and features true bypass switching. It is often celebrated as a highly versatile "Vox-boost-in-a-box" pedal.
